Contractor Therrien Waddell, Inc. received the 2013 ABC of Metro Washington Excellence in Construction Award for the NIST Net Zero Energy Residential Test Facility in the category of “Residential” and Somerset Pool House in the category of “Commercial/Residential Renovation $2 – $4 million”.

Therrien Waddell Construction completed the Somerset Community Pool and Bath House in Chevy Chase, MD. This challenging project was recently awarded the Excellence in Design Honor award from AIA Maryland Chapter as well as the Potomac Valley Chapter. A peer review jury cited 17 projects across the state, and of these, Somerset Pool Bath House and one other project received Honor Awards. McInturff Architects provided the design of the project. Project owner is the Town of Somerset.
Therrien Waddell Construction was recognized in a ribbon cutting ceremony held on September 12th, where Rick Fedrizzi, president, CEO and founding chairman of the U.S. Green Building Council, announced that the Net-Zero Energy Residential Test Facility has earned a LEED Platinum rating – the highest for sustainable structures.
