USGBC-NCR Montgomery County Branch Tour of Lafarge Concrete Plant

Please join Lafarge North America on Tuesday, May 21st for a live demonstration at the company’s Rockville plant.  The event will begin at MCPS offices (see below) with safety reminders followed by a brief overview of concrete products, their contributions to sustainability and the architectural creativity in design and construction.

Upon arrival at Lafarge’s Rockville plant, we will do an in-place demonstration of Hydromedia, Lafarge’s permeable concrete.  Attendees will see this product under the heaviest of “rain” conditions.  Next, there will be a live demonstration of Lafarge’s Artevia product range, allowing participants to see the process of placing and stamping decorative concrete.

Attendees are reminded to dress appropriately (we will be outdoors).  Personal protective equipment is required (hard hat, safety glasses, safety vest and close-toed shoes).  Lafarge will have a limited supply of extra PPE if necessary.

Park in the lot of Montgomery County Public School Department of Facilities Management office 45 W Gude Rd, Rockville, MD 20850 and meet at the building’s front lobby entrance promptly at 2:00 PM.  Once everyone has arrived we will talk about safety, the outline of events for the day, and a brief overview.  From there we will be bused to the plant.  We will start the demos at 3:00 and wrap up around 4:30 or so. Parking is not provided at the plant; please meet at the 45 West Gude address.

Food and beverages will be provided.
