Therrien Waddell Opens New Kiddies Kollege Christian Center with Formal Ribbon Cutting
Therrien Waddell Construction officially announced the completion of Kiddies Kollege Christian Center (KKCC) in Laurel, Maryland on September 5, 2008. The event was celebrated with a formal ribbon cutting performed by Owner/President Chad Shumate, key staff members and representatives of the Therrien Waddell, Inc. (TWI) project team. The one story, 7,500 square foot addition more than doubles the capacity of the existing facility and greatly expands its daycare service capabilities. The new building features new classrooms, an expanded play area, and a multipurpose room. The "L" shaped addition connected two existing structures on the site and continued the brick and EIFS radius design around the building. Improvements in existing classrooms adjoining the new addition add more flexibility and upgrades to existing facilities. This project completes the original concept started in 2004 with the first phase of the facility was completed by TWI. Kiddies Kollege caters to all childeren ages two through five and has been serving the Washington metropolitan area since 1947. The functional and modern building will help the directors of Kiddies Kollege implement their A Beka Christian curriculum to their students. As part of the initial team during the design and planning, Therrien Waddell is proud to be associated with this worthy institution and to have played an instrumental role in the opening of the new Kiddies Kollege Christian Center.
